We’re Aubury and Sophie – husband and wife, best friends, and the co-founders of Major and Minor.
We tied the knot on April 1st, 2017, surrounded by our favourite people and the breathtaking beauty of Wanaka. It was magic - everything we hoped for and more.
But while planning our own wedding, we quickly realised how hard it was to find the kind of beautiful, curated pieces we had in mind. So, we did what any creatively stubborn couple would do - we sourced them ourselves. From furniture to décor, we built our dream day from the ground up...and without even realising it, we also built the foundation of Major and Minor.
Now, we help couples bring their own unique love stories to life – with thoughtful planning, seamless coordination, and our ever-growing collection of elegant hire pieces. We’re here to make your day feel just as magical as ours did.

Our planning duo, Sophie and Sera, are here to take the stress out of wedding planning - whether you’re after full planning support or just a little help on the day. Their mission? To make sure your planning journey is as calm, joyful, and fun as the big day itself.
Sophie is the creative heart of Major and Minor. With a natural eye for design and a talent for sourcing the most beautiful, on-trend pieces, she’ll curate your styling to perfectly match the vibe you’re dreaming of. If we don’t have it, she’ll know exactly where to find it. Her background in teaching means she’s a master of organisation, obsessed with the details, and brings a wonderfully grounding presence to the process.
Sera is the queen of logistics - spreadsheets are her love language, and nothing gets past her sharp eye for detail. She’s here to make sure everything runs like clockwork and that even the tiniest elements are taken care of (yes, even the ones most people forget!). On the day, you’ll find her buzzing with positivity and calm, making sure everything flows seamlessly.
And of course, our delivery team deserves a special mention too. Aubury, known across the industry for his precision and care, leads our crew to ensure every single item is delivered safely, on time, and polished to perfection.
